Shivani Mithbaokar (b. Mumbai, India) is a painter based in Brooklyn, New York working across printmaking, ceramics, and found materials such as wallpaper, fabrics and furniture. She constructs personal mythologies by reimagining decorative motifs as abstract anatomies, exploring the body as a landscape of healing, memory and transformation.

Mithbaokar has been an artist-in-residence at the NARS Foundation and in 2026, she has been a recipient of the Powerhouse Arts Artist Subsidy Program and UC Berkeley South Asia Artist Prize, and has served as a juror for the Society of Illustrators Student Competition. She has exhibited in group shows across United States and internationally, including at Latitude Gallery (New York, NY), NARS Foundation (Brooklyn, NY), Field of Play Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), Hilton Hotel Times Square display by Dinner Gallery (New York, NY), Blanc Gallery (Philippines), 440 Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) among others. Her work has been featured in New American PaintingsHyperallergic, Friend of an Artist, and her self-published artist book is available at Printed Matter. She received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the Pratt Institute in 2025 and BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design in 2018.
